Answer
Hi, I’m Paul Rogers from thatcreativeceo. Love this question.
Here are a few of my go-to budget-friendly filmmaking moves:
- Light smarter, not bigger: 1 light → bounce it off a white wall or board → add diffusion (sheet, shower curtain, softbox) for that soft, “Hollywood” glow.
- Use practicals (lamps, screens, windows) in-frame to motivate your light and hide cheap fixtures.
- Shoot in naturally great locations (big windows, textured walls) so you need less gear.
- Move the camera with what you already have: tripods, chairs, body rigs instead of expensive gimbals.
What’s your current setup—phone, mirrorless, or something else?
