Hi, I’m Paul Rogers from That Creative CEO. Love this question.

I’m always roasting “blender audio” because most issues boil down to a few things:

  • Bad mic choice (relying on the phone mic too far away)
  • Noisy environments (ACs, traffic, echoes)
  • Terrible gain staging (too quiet and boosted later, or clipping at the source)
  • No monitoring while recording

To fix it, I push creators to:

  • Get the mic close (lavalier or shotgun just out of frame)
  • Record in a softer space (curtains, rugs, clothes, not tile and glass)
  • Set proper levels so peaks stay out of the red
  • Monitor with headphones and do a 10-second test before every shoot

What kind of content are you recording right now—talking head, vlogs, or something else?
