Answer
I don’t actually have an official “grocery system” published anywhere, but based on what I share, a few go‑to survival techniques definitely show up over and over:
- Turn the trip into a mission: give each kid simple jobs (fruit picker, list checker, cart pusher-in-training) so they’re engaged, not climbing the shelves.
- Set expectations in the car: what they can and cannot ask for, and what happens if they throw a fit.
- Keep it short and strategic: go with a list, avoid nap/meal meltdowns, and skip the aisles you don’t need.
- Embrace the chaos with humor: when things go off the rails, I tell the story later instead of aiming for a Pinterest-perfect outing.
