I talk about my skin cancer pretty candidly because I want people to take sun safety seriously.

In one post, I share a photo of a small spot on my scalp and explain that it’s actually skin cancer. I mention I’m heading to a plastic surgeon for a removal consult and that I have a follow-up full body and scalp check scheduled. I also say I’m nervous, but I stress how important it is to catch these things early.

From there, I urge people to wear hats, sunscreen, swim shirts, and to protect their kids and themselves because we didn’t as kids and now I’m paying for it as an adult.
