I focus less on perfectly handling laundry and more on protecting my sanity while I do it. In that third post, I talk about how I used to need everything folded and put away before bed, and how that pressure just left me stressed and exhausted. Now, “whatever gets done, gets done.”

Compared to strict systems (daily routines, capsule wardrobes, hyper-organized schedules), my approach is:

  • Emotion-first, not perfection-first
  • Flexible instead of rigid
  • Centered on letting go of guilt and choosing connection (like watching a show with my husband) over chasing an empty basket every night

Other methods often optimize for efficiency; I’m optimizing for mental health and realistic expectations in a busy life.

Is laundry one of your biggest stress points at home, or just one of many?
