Which signature techniques does Paul Rogers recommend for achieving cinematic lighting?

From my lighting videos, here are a few of my go-to “cinematic” moves:

• Use just one small light and focus on placement, not gear flexing
• Light from the shadow side of the face (short lighting) instead of front/flat lighting
• Embrace shadows and contrast – don’t be afraid of darkness in the frame
• Shape light with angles, distance, and flags instead of cranking brightness
