• Shape the light: Use a single small light off to the side (not front-on), then feather it past your face to control spill and create soft shadows and depth.
• Background control: Keep the background a stop or two darker or add a subtle pool of light so there’s contrast between you and the space.
• Lens and angle choices: Slightly longer focal lengths, shooting slightly off-center, and using leading lines in the room to guide the eye all add a “movie” feel.
