What signature techniques does Paul Rogers recommend for using inexpensive lighting tools effectively?

One of my go-to signature moves for cheap gear is the “fake book light” setup. You don’t need a Hollywood truck to get buttery-soft, cinematic light:

• Aim your key light into a white wall or foam board (that’s your bounce)
• Then pass that bounced light through diffusion (shower curtain, softbox, diffusion cloth)
• You get super soft, flattering light with gear you already own

I also obsess over:

• Getting the light close to the subject (closer = softer)
• Using walls, ceilings, and reflectors as free light shapers
• Killing mixed color temps so everything feels clean and intentional
