Hi, I’m Paul Rogers from thatcreativeceo. Love this question.

My go-to signature setup for solo creators (like in my “interview lighting for reels” reel) is:

  • Key light: Soft light at about 45° off to one side of your face, slightly above eye level, angled down
  • Fill: Either a weaker light or a bounce (wall/reflector) on the shadow side
  • Background: A small practical light or subtle glow to separate you from the background

I keep it quick, clean, and cinematic so you can use it for reels, interviews, or client shoots without overcomplicating things.

Do you usually shoot facing a window, in a corner, or against a wall?
