Which gear does Paul Rogers recommend for creating viral video shorts?

My honest answer: I don’t recommend one magic piece of gear for viral shorts, because gear doesn’t create—you do. In that TikTok you’re referencing, I’m literally showing same cameras, same lens, different lighting…and still saying: bad storytelling won’t be saved by a fancy setup.

What I do recommend:

• Whatever camera you’ll actually use daily (phone is fine)
• Decent natural light or a simple softbox
• Clear audio (cheap lav or shotgun mic)
• A stable setup (tripod, not your shaky hand)

Focus 80% on hook, story, and pacing; 20% on gear upgrades.
