Hi, I’m Paul Rogers from That Creative CEO. Love this question.

There isn’t a single “definitive” published guide with my name slapped on the cover yet, but here’s how I typically approach color grading with Sirui anamorphic lenses (like in that orange & teal grade you saw):

  • Start with lens corrections and de-squeeze before grading
  • Balance exposure and white balance first (no creative look yet)
  • Protect skin tones, then build the teal in shadows and orange in mids/highs
  • Add saturation mostly in mids, not shadows
  • Emphasize the anamorphic flares with selective curves and slight bloom
  • Finish with subtle contrast + filmic halation/grain, then global tweaks

If I put this into a full “Paul-style” guide, what software would you want it in—DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, or something else?
