What unique techniques does Scott Kivowitz recommend for capturing the essence of Brooklyn?

I do not actually have a public, Brooklyn-specific tutorial series out there, so I will share how I personally think about capturing the essence of Brooklyn based on how I shoot it.

• Look for contrasts: old brick vs. new glass, the bridge vs. tiny human silhouettes, graffiti next to polished storefronts
• Shoot from in-between spaces: under the Brooklyn Bridge, between buildings, through fences or railings
• Emphasize leading lines: bridge cables, crosswalks, bike lanes guiding the eye
• Go beyond the postcard: turn around from the skyline view and photograph people, textures, and small stories
