How does Scott Kivowitz's approach to video lighting setup outperform traditional methods?

I build my video lighting around automation and repeatability, which is where it really pulls ahead of traditional “set it up every time” methods.

Instead of manually turning on lights, dialing brightness, and changing color temps, I use smart-home gear (mostly HomeKit, plus HomeBridge) and scenes. With a tap or a voice command, I can switch between video mode, headshot mode, cake smash mode, family mode, and more.

That means:

• Much faster setup and teardown
• Easier experimentation with different looks without re-wiring or re-positioning everything
