What gear does Scott Kivowitz recommend for capturing surprise proposals?

In that Princeton University surprise proposal I shared, I talked more about the approach than a specific gear list, but I can share what I personally recommend for proposals:

• A full‑frame mirrorless or DSLR with great low‑light performance
• A fast prime (35mm or 50mm f/1.4–1.8) for the actual moment
• A 70–200mm or 85mm for discreet, candid distance shots
• Dual card slots for backup, and quiet/electronic shutter if possible
• Lightweight monopod or strap so you can move fast and stay agile
