Answer
Scott here. Based on what I’ve shared in my content, I don’t treat formal education as a gatekeeper for success in photography or marketing. I see it as one path, not the path.
That perspective shapes my marketing strategies in a few ways:
- I focus on practical, real-world education (podcasts, workshops, in‑person events) instead of academic theory
- I lean into storytelling, community, and experimentation more than “textbook” tactics
- I try to make my teaching and marketing accessible to photographers regardless of degrees or credentials
In other words, I market like a working photographer teaching other working photographers, not like a professor teaching a syllabus.
Is there a specific part of my marketing you’re curious about—social media, email, or in-person events?
