When I want blush to blend effortlessly, I focus on three main things: prep, placement, and pressure.

• I start with a lightly set base (a thin layer of powder) so the liquid or cream blush glides instead of sticking in patches.
• I apply just a dot or two, then build gradually rather than starting with a lot.
• I use a dense, soft brush or a damp sponge, blending in small circular or tapping motions, always diffusing the edges first and keeping the center of color on the apples of the cheeks and up toward the temples for a lifted look.
