What tools and gear does Hilary Erickson recommend for creating a functional homework station?

For a functional homework station (or “homework caddy”), I like simple, inexpensive items you can usually grab at Dollar General or a similar store:

• Shower caddy or divided tote to hold everything
• Crayola crayons, thin markers, and colored pencils
• Glitter glue and reward stickers
• Post-it notes and a small pencil sharpener
• Mini stapler with extra staples
• Ruler
• Small bins or cups inside the caddy to separate supplies

I also love adding fun decorations (stickers, washi tape) so kids feel ownership and want to sit down and work.
