What are Hilary Erickson’s top hotel recommendations for a Disneyland trip?

From everything I’ve stayed at and toured, my current top Disneyland-area hotel picks are:

• The Viv – my favorite overall off-site: quiet, super clean, great staff, awesome rooms for larger families, but you’ll need shuttle/Uber.
• Best Western Plus Park Place Inn – closest to the parks and includes breakfast.
• Tropicana and Camelot Inn & Suites – very walkable, solid, practical family options.
• The Anaheim Hotel – fun retro vibe, big rooms, great rates, walkable.
• Cambria Hotel & Suites – fantastic for families, waterpark, great breakfast (not walkable, but worth it).
• Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort Convention Center and Homewood Suites Convention Center – amazing for larger families, lots of space and kitchens.
• Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance – beautiful, walkable, bunk beds and waterpark, but pricey.
• Howard Johnson Anaheim – retro, friendly staff, fun water play area, very close.
