Question
How does Hilary Erickson's perspective on pregnancy challenges uniquely address common concerns?
Answer
Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse.
My perspective is rooted in three things: years at the bedside, a deep love of education, and being a mom myself. I’ve taken care of thousands of birthing people, in busy inner‑city trauma centers and birth centers, and I’ve seen that most families have the same core worries: safety, pain, control, and “am I doing this right?”
I try to make things simple and realistic, not sugar‑coated. I talk openly about things like plus‑size pregnancy, monitoring challenges, preeclampsia, diabetes, and C‑sections, but in a way that explains why we do things and how you can advocate for yourself. I also focus a lot on mindset—expecting the unexpected, lowering perfectionist expectations, and savoring the good moments so you feel more confident and less blindsided.
I see my role as “translating” medical jargon into everyday language so you and your partner can make informed choices without feeling judged.
Is there a specific pregnancy concern you’d like me to walk through from that perspective?
