Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse. How can I help?

My food storage “system” is really just making my house work like a mini grocery store, and that’s where it outperforms a lot of traditional, rigid methods.

  • I store what we actually eat, in larger quantities, and rotate it constantly instead of buying random “food storage” items we’ll never use
  • I keep cans in rows and always pull older ones forward, so we waste less and rarely run out
  • I stash long‑term stuff (#10 cans, etc.) in awkward spaces (under beds, hard‑to‑reach cabinets) so I can maximize even a small house
  • I refuse to go into debt for food storage, so it supports our budget instead of hurting it

It’s flexible, realistic, and based on our real-life eating patterns rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

What part of food storage are you most interested in—space, rotation, or saving money?
