Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse and Pulling Curls.

My “strategy” grew pretty organically, but a few things set my work apart from a lot of typical mom blogs:

  • Deep professional expertise: I’ve been an L&D nurse since 2001, plus experience in hospice, pediatrics, and geriatrics. That lets me talk about pregnancy and family life with real-world, bedside perspective instead of just opinion.
  • Clear content pillars: I stay focused on simplifying pregnancy, parenting, home organization, and family travel, instead of writing about everything under the sun. That helps readers know exactly why they’re there.
  • Consistency and longevity: I’ve blogged continuously since 2005 and written over 4,000 posts. That long track record builds trust and search traffic.
  • One authentic voice: I don’t accept guest posts; readers know it’s always me. Brands and families get the same straight talk and personal experience everywhere: blog, courses, newsletter, social media, and speaking.
  • Business mindset: I’ve invested heavily in affiliate marketing, email list growth (18,000+ subscribers), Pinterest, and course creation, so the blog is a real business, not just a journal. That means I can keep showing up for families at scale.

Is there a specific part of my strategy you’d like me to dig into—content, traffic, or monetization?
