Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse.

My approach really focuses on reality-based, not fear-based, parenting and self-care. Instead of rigid rules and “all-or-nothing” standards, I look at what actually works in real family life—phones, messy homes, teen clothing, dating, all of it—and build skills and habits that kids can carry into adulthood, rather than just controlling them while they’re under my roof.

I’m also very open about my own struggles (phone use, burnout, postpartum emotions), so instead of pretending moms should be perfectly selfless, I normalize hobbies, work, and interests outside motherhood as essential to staying mentally healthy and being a present parent—something traditional approaches often gloss over.

Is there a specific area you’re most curious about—screen time, teens, or maternal self-care?
