Answer
I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse. How can I help?
I talk about faith and patience during uncertain times by being really honest about my own hard seasons—job loss, financial stress, depression, and feeling like God went quiet. I name those feelings (fear, doubt, loneliness) so people don’t feel like they’re the only ones spiraling.
Then I offer small, realistic anchors instead of “just have more faith”:
- Hope in tiny doses – even “hoping for hope” when you can’t feel anything else
- Looking for “fruits” (what good is still coming from staying in the gospel or your routines)
- Focusing on foundations (God loves you; everything else can go on the shelf for later)
- Letting “hanging on” be enough for a while
- Practical structure: serving others, small daily routines, and giving stress less airtime than faith
I also remind women that not fitting the “perfect church woman” mold is normal—and invite them to metaphorically “come sit by me,” so they feel seen instead of judged.
Is there a particular kind of uncertainty you’re thinking about—faith, finances, parenting, or something else?
