Based on what I’ve shared so far, I focus more on the experience of beekeeping than giving a formal gear checklist, but there are a few clear essentials I relied on or highlighted:

• A full beekeeping suit with veil (being properly suited up let me get right up to the hives)
• Bee gloves to protect hands
• A smoker, using pine shavings, to calm the bees and mask alarm scents
• Access to a qualified apiarist/mentor (like Jerry Hayes) to guide and teach safely
