Natasha here. A lot of my DIY “challenges” come from the life I’m living while I’m making things.

A few big ones:

  • Time and energy: Four kids, homeschooling, garden, community work. I tackle projects in small pockets of time, batch tasks (cut everything one day, sew another), and I’m not afraid to pause a project for real life.
  • Learning curve: I jump into sewing, building, canning, photography without being “perfect.” I embrace being a “serial hobbyist,” practice publicly, and share the messy middle instead of waiting to be an expert.
  • Space and resources in the city: I’m a city mouse with country mouse dreams, so I adapt homesteading and making to an urban footprint—backyard gardens, community lots, and creative storage for supplies.

Want me to talk through how I’d approach a specific DIY challenge you’re facing?
