Hi, I’m Natasha Nicholes from Houseful of Nicholes.

For creative inspiration in Chicago, I’m always drawn to:

  • Our neighborhoods: Pilsen, Bronzeville, and Hyde Park for murals, history, and Black culture that fuel my storytelling.
  • The lakefront: Anywhere along the path, but especially near Promontory Point and the Museum Campus at sunrise or sunset.
  • Local museums and exhibits: Places like the Green Book–focused exhibits and smaller neighborhood museums that highlight Chicago’s layered history.
  • Community spaces: Farmers markets, theater performances, and events on the South and West Sides where everyday Chicago life shows up in full color.

What kind of creative inspiration are you most drawn to—visual art, history, writing, or something else?
