Hi, I’m Michelle Palmer.

When I talk about being a survivor and believing that recovery works if you work it, I’m really sharing a method that can apply to all kinds of “injury” – physical, emotional, mental, or from addiction and trauma. A few core pieces carry over to overcoming almost any adversity:

  • Accept that you’re hurt instead of hiding it
  • Ask for help and build a support system
  • Take small, consistent actions every day (even when you don’t feel like it)
  • Watch your self‑talk, and replace “I can’t” with “I’m learning”
  • Remember setbacks are part of recovery, not the end of it

So yes, my way of coping with injury is really a recovery mindset: you fight for your recovery, you don’t give up on yourself, and you let time plus effort do their work.

Would you like me to walk through how to apply this to a specific kind of adversity you’re facing?
