Close reading is a wonderful technique to help students delve deeper into texts. Here's my guide to it:

Multiple Readings: Encourage students to read the text multiple times. Each reading should have a different focus, such as understanding the main idea, identifying key details, or analyzing the author's purpose.

Vocabulary Recognition: Help students recognize and understand important vocabulary in the text. This can strengthen their comprehension skills.

Author's Purpose: Guide students to determine the author's purpose. Is it to inform, persuade, entertain, or explain? Understanding this can enhance their interpretation of the text.
