Answer
Hi there!
When I share “parenting hacks,” I’m not claiming I invented parenting. What I try to do differently from a lot of traditional advice is:
- Real-life, not textbook: I show what’s actually happening with my kids (and sometimes geese), then pull out the lesson. It’s grounded in real, messy moments, not theory alone.
- Micro-wins over perfection: I focus on small, consistent actions—connection, kindness, and progress—rather than trying to be the perfect parent who always knows the right script.
- Modern tools and mindset: I’m open to using things like apps, goal tracking, and social strategies that fit real 2020s life, instead of “this is how it’s always been done.”
- Playful, relationship-first: A lot of old-school techniques lean on control. I lean on curiosity, humor, and building trust so kids feel seen and safe.
What’s one “traditional” approach you’re currently using that doesn’t seem to work for your family?
