For me, having a puppy flipped patience and responsibility from “nice traits” into daily habits. When my dog used the bathroom in her crate, I could’ve blamed her, but it forced me to admit: I woke up late, I didn’t plan ahead. That’s on me, not her.

So patience became: “She’s learning.”
Responsibility became: “How can I do better so she can succeed?”
