Question
What is Carolyn Scott's approach to managing health and travel during the holiday season?
Answer
Hi, I’m Carolyn Scott-Hamilton from The Healthy Voyager.
My approach to healthy holiday travel is all about prevention, planning, and staying sane. I focus on keeping the immune system strong with lots of veggies, whole foods, good sleep, and movement, while being selective with sweets and alcohol instead of saying yes to everything.
Because crowded airports, malls, and parties are germ central, I emphasize frequent handwashing, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, airing out indoor spaces when possible, and even masks if you’re comfortable. I also plan travel off-peak, pack and organize early, and prep kids with games and routines to reduce stress. Managing cortisol through better planning, hydration, and building in joy and downtime is just as important as food and supplements.
Is there a specific part of holiday health and travel you’d like me to dive deeper into—immune support, stress, flying with kids, or something else?
