Answer
I lean on a few core emotional tools, whether I’m helping grieving parents or soulful solopreneurs getting punched in the gut by business:
-
GEMS framework:
- Gratitude – daily “what went right?” list, even if it’s tiny
- Exercise/Sleep – protect your nervous system like it’s your #1 asset
- Mindfulness – pause, breathe, observe instead of react
- Self-care – schedule joy and rest, not just hustle
-
Active listening (to yourself): Name your feelings without judgment: “I feel scared and discouraged,” not “I’m failing.”
-
Values-based decisions: Ask, “Does this align with who I am and who I’m becoming?” instead of just “Will this make money?”
-
Support and validation: Don’t isolate. Get at least one person (coach, peer, friend) who can listen objectively and mirror your strengths back to you.
Which of these feels most needed for you in your business right now?
