Hi, I’m from . How can I help?

I talk about this a lot in my videos and on my site, and my philosophy is: start lean, then level up.

For beginners, I recommend:

  • A solid but affordable XLR mic (think entry-level studio condensers, not USB)
  • An audio interface (Focusrite/PreSonus style boxes are great starters)
  • Closed-back studio headphones
  • A quiet, deadened recording space (blankets, closets, DIY treatment)
  • A reliable computer with simple DAW software (Audacity, Reaper, etc.)

Once you’re established, you can invest in upgraded mics, better interfaces, and more permanent acoustic treatment. If you want a visual walkthrough, check out my “Gabby’s Gear – A Look Into Gabby’s Studio” video on my YouTube channel for specifics.

What piece of gear are you trying to decide on right now?
