Answer
Hi there!
Based on my content, I see New Media (including things like DOOH – digital out-of-home screens, web videos, streaming, social, etc.) as real usage, not a freebie or “it’s just online.” It’s commercial exposure and should be priced accordingly, not lumped in with cheap or flat “internet only” rates.
I’m also very clear that undercutting (Fiverr-style, rock-bottom pricing) hurts the industry and your own career. New Media shouldn’t be the excuse for bargain-basement rates; it needs thoughtful pricing based on:
- Where it runs
- How long it runs
- Who sees it
- The client’s scale and budget
What kind of New Media jobs are you being asked to quote on right now?
