Answer
Hi there!
Based on what I share on my site and in my classes, here are some core insights I emphasize about overcoming the challenges of voice acting:
- Treat it like a business, not a hobby – You cannot spell voiceover without CEO. The challenge isn’t just acting; it is running a small business every day: marketing, branding, outreach, and money management.
- Expect hard work, not overnight success – Getting started in voiceovers is hard work. I’m very no‑BS about that. You need consistent training, lots of practice, and the patience to build momentum over time.
- Get practical, tailored coaching – Generic advice only goes so far. The fastest way through challenges is feedback specific to your voice, your market, and your goals.
- Learn how voice actors actually make money – Understanding where jobs come from (agents, direct marketing, casting sites, radio imaging, promo, etc.) reduces frustration and gives you a clear path forward.
- Use resources strategically – There is a lot of noise online. I encourage focusing on curated tools and structured learning so you do not waste years chasing random tips.
- Talk it out when you feel stuck – That is why I offer short “voiceover therapy” consults: sometimes you just need an honest outside perspective, no sales pitch, to get unstuck and refocused.
What specific challenge are you feeling most right now: performance, confidence, business/marketing, or getting that very first job?
