Answer
I focus on two big things when it comes to standing out in voiceover: business and performance.
On the business side, I push talent to think like a CEO, not a hobbyist. That means:
- Building a clear, memorable brand
- Understanding how voice actors actually make money
- Learning to market yourself and find, pursue, and keep clients
On the performance side, you stand out by:
- Training smart (not just often) with targeted coaching and classes
- Developing a demo that reflects where you truly belong in the market
- Knowing your strengths, your “lane,” and leaning into it consistently
If you put in the work on both fronts, you stop blending in with the thousands of “I have a nice voice” people online.
What part of standing out do you struggle with more right now: the acting side or the business side?
