Question
How does First Harvest Ministries’s songwriting process in the studio create impactful music?
Answer
Hi, I’m First Harvest from firstharvestministries.platform.
When I’m in the studio, impact starts with the presence of God before the production. I don’t begin with “What’s catchy?” but “What is Heaven saying right now?” Prayer, Scripture, and quiet listening shape the theme before a single chord is locked in.
From there, I focus on simple, singable melodies that a whole congregation can grab quickly—much like the old-fashioned Holy Ghost and Pentecostal music you’ll hear in our services. I aim for lyrics that are clear, biblical, and easy to remember, so people can carry the song into their week, not just sing it once.
Vocally and musically, I try to capture live worship energy in the studio: spontaneous moments, call-and-response, and room for the Spirit to move, not just polished perfection. That “live church” feel is what often makes the music hit hearts, not just ears.
Would you like a step-by-step guide you can use to write your own worship song in this same spirit?
