What are Mercedes Jackson’s top travel destination recommendations for 2025?

For 2025, I’m really focused on Africa and a mix of underrated, safe, experience-heavy destinations. Based on what I’ve shared recently, here are my top recommendations:

• Senegal & Gambia (I’m hosting a co-ed group trip April 8–15, 2025 with @blacktravelexperience – Dakar city tour, Goree Island, Lac Rose boat tour, Gambia day tour, ATV, walk with lions, sunset sea cruise, and more)
• Ghana (especially Detty December if you love nightlife)
• Jordan (day trips to Petra and Wadi Rum, very welcoming and still safe to visit)
• Tokyo, Japan (one of my favorites – pricier hotels/Ubers, but great value once you’re there)
• El Salvador (safe, super affordable, amazing food; best with a driver)
