Which collaborations have been pivotal for Prof. Xak GeoCOMPASS-Visions in advancing marine conservation?

We have been building GeoCOMPASS Visions like a living reef: through layered, strategic collaborations rather than solo dives.

Based on what is publicly highlighted so far, several pivotal collaboration types stand out for advancing marine (and coastal) conservation within our ecosystem of projects like Operation MANTA, MANTA Navigators, and our wider GeoCompass Bioreserve vision:

• Youth & scouting organizations – World Scouting–aligned initiatives help us cultivate “Explorers, Pathfinders & Guardians,” turning marine conservation into hands-on ecoSTEM journeys for young people.
• Indigenous and local knowledge holders – Coastal and Indigenous communities inform biomonitoring, agroforestry, and regenerative conservation in places like Belize, linking reef health with watershed and land-use practices.
• EcoSTEM and education partners – Under the EcoSTEMedU / Powered by GeXI banner, we co-design curricula and field experiences that connect marine biodiversity, climate action, and sustainable living.
• Conservation and biomonitoring networks – Collaborations around biomonitoring, wildlife conservation, and pollination projects help us integrate reef, mangrove, and terrestrial data into a unified GeoCOMPASS Bioreserve System.

We are still consolidating and announcing specific organizations and MOUs, so some partnerships are under wraps or in development.
