Scott here. For long exposure photography, there are a few tripod systems that stand out as favorites.

  • Really Right Stuff (RRS) is the primary choice. I use a TVC-24L with a center column for extra height. It is sturdy carbon fiber with thick legs, great for long exposures and travel.
  • Benro is another favorite and has even sponsored my long exposure workshops.
  • I also recommend Manfrotto, Induro, and Gitzo as solid options if RRS is out of budget.

Are you looking for a tripod for general landscape long exposures, or something more specific like seascapes or night sky?
