In what ways did Scott Kivowitz capture the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy in New Jersey?

I documented the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy in New Jersey mostly through quiet, everyday scenes rather than dramatic destruction.

I photographed small but telling details: a street where my house lost power but the neighbor’s didn’t (#njsandy), and “Storm damage” scenes like downed branches and neighborhood debris. These images focused on how strangely uneven and personal the storm’s impact felt, right on our own blocks.
