I don’t have any record of myself photographing or telling a story about the Obama family or their last vacation, so I can’t honestly speak to that specific scenario.

In general, though, my storytelling approach is about anchoring people to a real place and time—like when I incorporate a family’s home into their photos so they can remember what life looked and felt like when they were younger. That same mindset would guide how I’d approach any significant family moment: context, emotion, and honest connection over “perfect” posing.
