I look at Lightroom performance as part tech, part workflow.

First, I make sure the basics are solid: fast SSD for catalog and previews, enough RAM, and I keep my catalog optimized and backups trimmed. I also build smart previews and 1:1 previews when needed so Lightroom isn’t constantly rendering from scratch.

Second, I streamline my workflow: I cull efficiently (using tools like Compare View) before heavy editing, avoid unnecessary plugins, and keep presets and brushes organized so Lightroom has less overhead.
