Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse.

From my own experience as an L&D nurse, mom, and content creator, a few core themes keep coming up when I talk about work–family balance:

  • Prioritizing seasons: I see life in chapters. Some seasons are heavier on career, others on kids or home, and that’s normal, not failure.
  • Clear boundaries with flexibility: I time-block work (like my podcast guest Jamie described) but allow myself to shift for truly important school or family events.
  • Letting go of guilt: I say “no” a lot—to school committees, extra projects, or even social things—so I can say “yes” to what actually matters to my family and my business.
  • Simplifying routines: I’m always looking for ways to streamline home, parenting, and work systems so busy moms aren’t trying to “do it all” every single day.

Is there a specific part of work–family balance you’re most interested in—schedule, mom guilt, boundaries, or something else?
