There are several pregnancy myths that I've debunked based on my experience as The Pregnancy Nurse®. Here are the top three:

  1. You Can't Say No: Many people believe they can't refuse a doctor's instructions during labor, but that's not true. You have the right to make choices about your care.

  2. You Won't Feel Anything With an Epidural: While an epidural can significantly reduce pain, it doesn't make you 100% numb. It's designed to take away about 80% of the pain.

  3. You Have Control: While you can control what medical procedures you consent to, you can't control everything about labor and delivery. For example, you can't control your baby's position or size at delivery.

Remember, it's important to have open conversations with your healthcare provider to ensure you're making informed decisions about your care. What other questions do you have about pregnancy or childbirth?
