• Leadership is modeled, not demanded: You need to model what you want. If you want respect, you act respectfully. If you want hard work, you show hard work.
• First impressions matter: You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and that applies to work, parenting, and friendships.
• Respect is earned: If you want respect, you have to earn it and also show it to others.

Those lessons have shaped how I see myself as an employee, a mother, and a friend.
