Question
What tools and techniques does Hilary Erickson recommend for custom planner sticker creation?
Answer
I'm a big fan of using the Silhouette machine for creating custom planner stickers. It allows you to customize exactly what you need. For instance, if you have a random work schedule and want stickers that list exactly when you go to work and for how long, you can create them with the Silhouette.
However, it's important to note that the Silhouette has a steep learning curve and their software can be quite different from Photoshop. I recommend taking some time to learn about it. I found the Print and Cut guide from Silhouette School to be extremely helpful. You can save 10% on any product over there with my coupon code HILARYERICKSON.
When it comes to printing your stickers, remember that your stickers are only as good as your printer. I recommend starting with some cheap sticker paper so you can mess up with it and not feel badly. Also, be very thoughtful about what setting you place your blade on when cutting your stickers.
Lastly, there are tons of free printable templates out there. It's way easier to use someone else's design than to create your own from scratch.
