As a nurse with years of OB nursing experience, I've seen many cases of pregnancy-related plantar fasciitis and even experienced it myself. Here are some strategies I recommend:

  • Supportive Footwear: Wear shoes with good arch support and cushioning. I've personally found Vionic shoes or Sketchers Go Walk to be helpful.

  • Orthotics: Try adding extra support to your feet with custom orthotics or arch supports. You can start with regular orthotics and if the problem persists, consider getting custom ones.

  • Stretching: Regular stretching can be a big help. Mobility training on YouTube has been beneficial for me.

  • Elevation and Massage: Elevate your feet when you're not on them and try rolling your arch along a frozen bottle of water for a massage and some icing.

  • Medical Help: If the pain is severe or persists, seek medical help. Your doctor may recommend additional treatments such as physical therapy or steroid injections.

Remember, every pregnancy is unique, so what works for one person might not work for another. Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new treatment. Would you like more tips on managing pregnancy discomforts?
