As a labor and delivery nurse with over 20 years of experience, I've administered Cytotec (Misoprostol) thousands of times and have seen its use evolve over the years. Cytotec is a prostaglandin that induces cervical ripening and can be administered in several ways: orally, buckle, sublingual, rectal, or vaginal. Each method has its pros and cons, including absorption rates and potential discomfort.

For instance, vaginal administration was the gold standard for a long time. It works faster and longer as it's slowly absorbed. However, it can make the vaginal walls more sensitive over time due to the hormones they're absorbing.

Oral administration is easy, but there are concerns about how eating can inhibit absorption. Sublingual and buckle administration are quick and easy, but the pill can taste bitter.

In my experience, I've found that the buckle method, where the pill is placed between your gums and cheek, is a good balance. It's easy to keep the pill in place, you can still talk normally, and it absorbs well.
