Question
What are Hilary Erickson's experiences with Liberty HealthShare and Zion Healthshare?
Answer
I joined Liberty HealthShare about three years ago when the cost of traditional health insurance became too high. However, I encountered several issues with Liberty. They weren't paying my medical bills on time, and their Healthtraq program wasn't helping me with my weight issues as I had hoped. I also noticed a lot of complaints about Liberty from other users, mainly about bills not being paid for years.
Because of these problems, I decided to leave Liberty and look for alternatives. I found Zion Healthshare and decided to switch. I've been with Zion for a few years now and I'm really happy with them. They have a quick turnaround time for processing and reimbursing bills, which was a major factor in my decision to switch. They also have a medical advocacy department that helps find low-cost options, which makes me feel more secure.
One thing to note is that with Zion, we have a per-incident deductible. So for each new medical incident, my family is responsible for the first $1,000. But after that, Zion pays the rest. I've found this to be a more manageable and predictable way to handle medical expenses.
Remember, though, that health shares are not insurance and they're not regulated like insurance. It's important to understand how they work and what they cover before deciding to join.
